Amaechi Accuses Jonathan of Taking Sides in Soku Oil Well Crisis

• Urges Rivers people to vote out PDP

Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of taking sides in the dispute between Rivers and Bayelsa States over the ownership of Soku oil wells.
He has also urged Rivers people to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led federal government in next year’s election to secure their future.
Amaechi spoke at the weekend in Degema, the headquarters of Degema Local Government Area of the state after inaugurating an 8,000-sitting capacity football stadium complex built by the local government administration

Lil Kesh also made a debut in the award. He was nominated in the ‘Best Street Hop-Artiste’ category for his song ‘Shoki’.
Tuface was nominated in the ‘Best Recording of the Year’ and ‘Best R&B Single’ for his song ‘Let Somebody Love You’ while Timi Dakolo bags three nominations in the same categories including ‘Best Vocal Performance (Male)’ for his ‘Iyawo Mi’ song.
Of the 21 categories, Flavour was only nominated in the ‘Artiste of the Year’ category. It is a tough call for the Limpopo crooner in the ‘Artiste of the Year’ category as he is nominated alongside Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Phyno and Flavour.
Absentees at the nominees list include P-Square, Omawumi, MI and others.
The annual prestigious award, which is in its 9th season, unveiled the nominees on Tuesday alongside a press briefing.
For the first time, the organisers, who has over the years kept mute about the adjudication and voting process, revealed a member of the jury to the public to address some of the controversial issues that have trailed the award ceremony since its inception.
Heading the jury is veteran entertainer and disc jockey, Jimmy Jatt. Jatt elaborated on the process of screening and voting to the media professionals, laying emphasis on the transparency of the award so far.
“We deliberately refused to reveal the members of the jury to the public to avoid lobbying. So if anyone says he pays money to anybody to win in this category, then good luck to him because we don’t know anything about it. We don’t take money from anyone.”
He further explained that the award is not based on public votes alone but the jury votes as well. An interesting issue he addressed was the ‘song of the year’, ‘revelation of the year’ and ‘Next rated’ award category. According to him, the public misconstrued the structure of the award when the winner emerges because they believe a certain artiste should have won in that category.
“These artistes are selected based on their works submitted in the year of review. If you don’t have any work produced during that period, you are not qualified for the award”, he added.
The year under review for this year’s award is between July 2013 and June 2014.
The CEO of Smooth Operations, Ayo Animashaun, reiterated the integrity of the award, stating that the award does not seek to favour any tribe but to honour excellence in the industry. The award ceremony is scheduled for October 25.
Nollywood 2015: See the actors, actresses and musicians that want to help govern Nigeria..
It seems the en vogue thing for Nollywood’s entertainers is to declare their ambition for one political position or the other in Nigeria.
Well the jury is still out on whether the celebs are getting involved because Nigerian politics still offers the best paying job in the world, or if they truly want to serve the people.
It’s hard to believe politics is ever about service to the people, especially if you hail from Nigeria, but there seems to be a silver lining in the dark clouds. For instance, Kate Henshaw, one of Nollywood’s most famous names says she will never offer or accept bribe throughout her political career.
That seems like a good campaign platform to run from…the bribe epidemic in Nigeria is still at an alarming proportion, especially in the Nigerian Police Force.
Maybe one of the Nollywood candidates will tell us how we can put a stop to something like that…in any event here are most of those celebs who have declared their interest:

Would You Give Facebook Your Health Data?
Facebook is following Apple and Google into healthcare, according to a report from Reuters. The company is considering building online “support communities” and healthcare apps that would supposedly help people to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The way the social network is planning to position this Facebook health effort is troubling.
According to one Reuters source, “the company is considering rolling out its first health application quietly and under a different name.” Presumably because the idea of Facebook knowing how much you exercise and what your blood pressure makes some people nervous. To gain users' trust, the company may package up a healthcare app without Facebook branding, and get people to share their data—that just seems backwards.
Considering patient privacy is one of the most important tenants of healthcare, Facebook’s history of controversial privacy policies doesn’t make it seem like a corporation people would really want to trust with their data.
Facebook’s plans to roll out health apps under apps from Facebook that aren't branded as such shows that even Facebook knows no one wants a future Facebook Health, either.
So Why Is Facebook Doing This?
The company already has huge amounts of data on its users—names, where they live, what they read online, and what they’re interested in. Health data would only further strengthen its massive social graph.

How Lindsay Lohan prevents another rehab visit
Lindsay Lohan finds it ‘hard’ to shut herself off and relax but is slowly learning ways to calm down and retreat from her hectic life.
She said: ‘I have some meditations so I tend to do those quite a lot. Music is always something that calms me too. At the moment I really love ‘Sunday (Klangtherapeuten Remix)’ by Max Manie.
‘I do Deepak Chopra’s 21-day Meditation. It’s the most personal thing I can think of that I have for myself. Just being able to shut off.
‘It’s a hard process, but I’ve been practising it for a while now and it does work.’
The ‘Mean Girls’ star – who has been to rehab six times – has reevaluated her life and always tries to do her best, and will take measures to be ‘selfish’ if she feels she is heading down the wrong path.
She told Britain’s Marie Claire magazine: ‘Every day I think, ‘What’s more important? What makes me happy? When do I feel my best? When do I feel I’m giving my best? Am I making other people happy? How can I make other people happy?’
‘They are the general guidelines I try to live by. You know, it sounds selfish but you do have to put yourself first.
